CWS Key Achievements
In 2010:
- With its partners, CWS reached out to nearly 32,000 children and their families.
- 127 students studied a trade or profession at the JYOTI vocational training centre, developing the skills and confidence to find full time employment.
- 669 children received nursery education and essential health care at the Day Care Health Centres.
- Seto Gurans supported 1032 children in rural areas. Over 95% of children supported by Seto Gruans commence Grade 1 primary education, much higher than the national average.
- Asha Healthcare continues to contribute to the reduction of child mortality in the regions in which it serves. 15 years ago, it was estimated that the child mortality rates in some of the most remote villages was 15 per cent. In 2009-2010, there were no reports of child mortality in these villages.
- Asha Healthcare Clinic’s services were used nearly 80,000 times!
